About

Troy Patterson has spent two decades helping DC-area buyers and sellers navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives — and for LGBTQ+ clients, that often means navigating it with someone who actually understands what's at stake beyond the transaction. Troy is the immediate past Secretary of the DC Chapter of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and has built his practice around the neighborhoods, legal nuances, and community trust that matter most to LGBTQ+ buyers and sellers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

He came to Washington in 1987 stationed with the U.S. Coast Guard and built a career in nonprofit fundraising and management before moving into real estate full-time — work that included the Studio Theatre, Georgetown University, The National Building Museum, and The National Association of Home Builders. That foundation shows up today in his continued support of organizations like Sitar Arts Center (where he serves on the board), the Victory Fund, the Human Rights Campaign, and Step Afrika.

Troy holds designations as a Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Certified Residential Specialist, GRI, and Military Relocation Professional, is a Virginia-licensed financing specialist, and was formerly a pre-licensing instructor in DC. He's a proud member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance and brings that same lens — informed, direct, no wasted time — to every client relationship.
