SUMMARY:The Alliance Western Washington Presents: Resilience in Real Estate - A Safety Workshop & Community Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Women's Council of REALTORS Seattle Metro in collaboration with the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance\n\nYou show vacant homes. You host open houses alone. You meet online leads at the door before you've ever shaken their hand. Industry safety data names hosting an open house as the single most common situation where real estate professionals report fearing for their safety and most of us have never trained for it.\n\nBut this isn't only about how to defend yourself. It starts with awareness reading a room\, trusting your instincts\, setting boundaries\, and de-escalating before a situation ever becomes physical. The physical skills are the backup. Awareness is the foundation.\n\nAnd it matters most for the people most often targeted. Women and members of the LGBTQ+ community face heightened risk doing the everyday work of this job which is exactly why we've built this as a collaboration. Safety isn't a solo skill\; it's something we strengthen together\, as an entire industry and community that looks out for its own.\n\nIn that spirit of community\, this event is also a major fundraiser! Thanks to our generous event sponsors\, 100% of registration proceeds and all funds raised from our exciting on-site raffle will go directly to The More We Love an organization dedicated to providing critical outreach\, housing navigation\, and support to unhoused individuals in our region.\n\nFeatured Workshop: "YOU Are Worth Fighting For!"\nYou already know how to walk into a room and own it. This workshop ensures you can walk out of any room safely. Solo showings. Open houses. Unfamiliar properties. Clients you just met. This 90-minute workshop gives you practical tools to handle all of it:\n\nSituational awareness and reading a room\n\nProfessional boundary-setting built for how agents actually work\n\nDe-escalation tactics for when situations go sideways\n\nSimple\, hands-on physical techniques that work in real situations\n\nThis training is built around a belief this community knows well: the goal is to live by choice\, not be limited by fear. Everyone is welcome. No experience required. No wrong questions. Walk out more confident and capable than when you walked in.
